~ Planting seeds of hope & watering purpose ~
Why we do what we do:
-
45% of children in California live in low income homes
-
57% of low income families are African American
-
61% are Hispanic.
-
It is proven that youth from low income neighborhoods are 20 % more likely to end up in prison.
-
It is also proven that 61 percent of the incarcerated population are black or Latino.
Familiar with the school to prison pipeline?
At Youth With A Purpose we believe that intervention and early implementation of strong mental health services, academic support, and planting seeds of hope start AT HOME in our communities first, then in schools.
Youth With A Purpose provides youth programs and supportive services in response to the school to prison pipeline. Youth with access to resources, mentorship, & services are less likely to enter the school to prison pipeline and are more likely to become successful individuals in society.

Volunteer & Outreach
Community & fun!
The goal of our youth community programs is to provide unity and a safe environment for our youth to grow and explore their passions. Our programs focus on exploration by way of the arts. We love providing dance, theater, music, and other forms of art expression for our youth!
Making a Difference
Through our Supportive Services, we have the potential to make a real and positive change in the community. Support does not end at age 18 for former foster, homeless, or substance dependent youth. This is one of our key areas of focus here at Youth With A Purpose. We hope to partner with young adult transitional living programs or shelters.
